Our services

What are you sending us?

Pick the job. Each one follows its own process in the Brisbane workshop, and two of them cost you nothing.

    Testing

Three tests. Two benches. Four standards.

Reliable, consistent test data for your RBI program, because every valve is tested the same way on the right medium.

    Pop test

Confirms the valve opens at its set pressure, run with volume on the bench.

    Leak test

Seat tightness checked to API 527, so the valve seals once it reseats.

    Back pressure test

Checks the outlet side and body hold pressure without leaking.

    Bench 1

    Gas and air

All gas service PSVs, pop tested with volume using air.

    Bench 2

    Liquid and water

All liquid service PSVs, pop tested with volume using water.

ASME XIII Div. 1The code for overpressure protection. Our work procedures, test procedures and equipment follow it.
ASME PTC 25The performance test code for pressure relief devices, covering how set pressure is tested.
NB-18The National Board's requirements for certified pressure relief devices.
API 527The seat tightness standard used for every leak test.

    Inland Transport Guarantee

Ship it upright, on its side, or in the back of a ute

Auto Seat Technology lets a Mercer open, close, seat and seal many times before it needs attention. So valves processed in Brisbane travel in tri-wall boxes on expanded foam, in any orientation, with no special racking.

    • No sealing or soft seat damage under normal shipping conditions, guaranteed
    • Unbox on site and install straight onto the skid
    • No on-site retest or recertification needed
    • Applies to Mercer valves processed by Mercer Brisbane, in place since May 2015

    Savings

What removing the field retest is worth

Mercer Brisbane estimates up to $1,000 saved per valve by removing on-site testing, and more on wellhead PSVs over the following years.

    100

Estimates from Mercer Brisbane: $1,000 per PSV for the first on-site retest avoided, and up to $7,000 per wellhead PSV over the following 6 years. Your site costs will vary.

    FAQs

    Questions we get asked

Anything else, call the workshop on 07 3265 4888, any time.

Do I need to retest valves on site after you recertify them?

No. Mercer valves processed in Brisbane are covered by the Inland Transport Guarantee, so they can go from the box straight onto the skid.

Does the guarantee cover other brands?

No. It applies only to Mercer valves processed by Mercer Brisbane. We still test, repair and recertify other brands.

    What does consignment storage cost?

Nothing. New Mercer PSVs are stored free in our Brisbane warehouse, tracked by serial number, with a monthly stock count sent to you.

    When are consignment valves tested?

When you draw them down. Each valve is pop tested and adjusted if needed, leak tested and back pressure tested before it is dispatched to site.

What paperwork comes with my valves?

Field valves get an As Found report, a quote, then repair and verification certificates. New valves get Mercer's manufacturing certificates (COC, material, hydro, paint, NDT and certified drawings) plus a Brisbane verification certificate.

    Which warranty applies?

Mercer Brisbane offers a 1 year Australian warranty, and a 3 year warranty on verified valves in Mercer approved applications.
